It is not news to suggest that most of our churches are not on the cutting edge of technology. Or that the current technological trends involve the monetizing of every aspect of technology. In laymen's terms that means that technology is growing significantly more expensive, as well as complex.
This page is intended to help the technologically challenged to increase their technological effectiveness, though they may have minimum knowledge or available cash.
For instance, Microsoft Office® is a staple for every industry, but is growing increasingly expensive at several hundred dollars for a single copy. However, OpenOffice both a multi-platform and multi-lingual office suite and an open-source project that is compatible with all other major office suites, the product is free to download, use, and distribute. You can use OpenOffice and still be compatible with all Microsoft Office programs — Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Frontpage & Publisher. In fact, I think that OpenOffice is superior to Microsoft Office. But don't take my word for it, try it yourself and use the money you save for ministry.
There are many products and "tricks" (or practices) that can save churches and their members money and headaches when it comes to computers, technology and the Internet.
